Strengthening our National Footprint - Canberra Branch Opening

We are further strengthening our national footprint with the opening of a new Access Hardware and API Access & Security co-brand branch in Canberra on Monday 2 March, 2026, delivering a fully integrated door hardware and security solution for the ACT trade market.

The opening marks an important milestone for our business. It is the first new branch to launch since Access Hardware acquired API Access & Security in August 2025 and introduced Access & Security Co — the master brand uniting Access Hardware and API under one national identity.

With co-branded operations now established across most states and territories, the Canberra branch reinforces the group’s position as Australia’s leading commercial door hardware supplier and commercial locksmithing network.

A One-Stop Shop for the Industry

Access Hardware is recognised nationally for its commercial door hardware expertise, supporting builders, contractors and facility managers with compliant, fit-for-purpose solutions. API Access & Security complements this with specialist capability in commercial locksmithing, master key systems and electronic security.

Together, through co-branded operations across Australia, the group delivers a fully integrated hardware and security solution — now strengthened further with the opening of the Canberra branch.

In Canberra, customers will be able to locally access:

  • Commercial door hardware and accessories
  • Electronic and mechanical locking solutions
  • Master key systems and restricted keying
  • Commercial locksmithing services
  • Trade and project support

For customers nationally, this means streamlined procurement and consistent technical guidance — from specification through to installation and ongoing maintenance.

Supporting Construction Growth in the ACT

The Canberra branch, conveniently located in Fyshwick, one of Canberra’s most popular trade and industrial precincts, will service the local ACT market and surrounding NSW regions, supporting continued construction and infrastructure activity across government, commercial and multi-residential sectors.

Spencer Lowndes, Managing Director of Access Hardware, said the new branch reflects the company’s long-term commitment to supporting trade customers nationally.

“Canberra is an important and growing market, particularly across government, commercial and infrastructure projects,” said Lowndes.

“By bringing Access Hardware and API to ACT, we’re providing the local construction industry with a single, trusted partner for both commercial door hardware and integrated security solutions.

“This new branch opening reinforces our position as Australia’s leading door hardware, locksmith and security partner — combining national capability with strong local service. As we continue to grow as a truly national business, our focus remains on delivering connected solutions that make life easier for our trade customers.”

Branch Leadership & Technical Support

The branch is led by Peter Johnson, who brings more than 25 years’ experience in the door hardware and locksmithing sector.

The Canberra team also includes fully qualified, SCEC-endorsed commercial locksmith expertise, strengthening our support for high-security and government environments.

Together, the team provides technical guidance across specification, hardware selection, master key system design and ongoing service support for commercial and government projects.

Open for Trade – Monday 2 March 2026

Customers are encouraged to visit the new branch from Monday 2 March 2026 to meet the team, explore the trade-focused range and discuss upcoming project requirements.

Trade accounts will be available, offering streamlined ordering, dedicated local support and access to national programs such as Qantas Business Rewards — further strengthening Access Hardware’s position as Australia’s leading door hardware, locksmith and security partner.
